Users of Blackboard Collaborate
What happened to LearnCentral and will Blackboard Collaborate continue to have an online user community?
We want to thank you for choosing to be a valued member of the LearnCentral public community for educators. We hope you've been able to connect with your colleagues and make new ones, to share and discover valuable relevant resources, and to participate in online discussions and live webinars. We have enjoyed working alongside you for the past three years, and we appreciate all that you have done to support education. We ask that you join us at http://www.wecollaborate.com/, the new user community for the Blackboard Collaborate online platform.
What happened to my vRoom?
With LearnCentral closing, you will not be able to access your existing vRoom through LearnCentral but we are continuing our vRoom offering. Simply go to http://bbcollaborate.com/try to sign up for a free trial. Our free trial provides you with access to a 25-seat session for 30 days. Upon conclusion of the free trial, you can convert the session to a new vRoom.
If you have previously signed up for a free trial, you can still register. Our system will detect your free trial has ended and automatically offer you a new vRoom. You’ll receive an email confirmation titled “Your Blackboard Collaborate trial is now a vRoom”.
If you would like to sign up for a free trial again, you can do so with a different email address which is not in our system.
Can I still access vRoom through LearnCentral?
No, LearnCentral will no longer be available after December 31, 2011. You will access your vRoom through a link provided in an email. When you sign up using the above free trial process, an email confirmation will provide you with the information to access your vRoom and invite others.
What if I lose the link to my vRoom, how do I retrieve it?
To retrieve the link for your vRoom go to http://try.bbcollaborate.com/trial/recover-link.go and enter your email address. An email will be sent to you with the details on how to access your vRoom. Please note: the text of the email will refer to your free trial, but the information will be for your vRoom as the session has already converted to a vRoom.
