Application Sharing Question

Bit of a newbie question... I have a class this weekend in which I want to share an Excel spreadsheet and ideally allow my student to edit the content of said spreadsheet. I've just had a play around with Application Sharing so I'm comfortable on him being able to see the spreadsheet. But what about him being able to edit the contents? Is that possible at all?

You can give control to someone else in app share, but might be easier to share a Google spreadsheet and then let them change from within Google apps, which will then be reflected in your app share of the Google spreadsheet.
